Lu and I are back from our mini-moon and easing back into our lives as husband and wife.
While we're waiting for our official pictures to post (and the unofficial ones -- c'mon Facebook friends, lol), I'll give you the rundown of the wedding from our perspective.
Bottom Line: The wedding ceremony, reception, and after party were perfect! I had an absolute blast, and it was better than I'd even imagined. :-)
.... Now with that said, there were a bunch of things that happened pre-wedding that I wasn't expecting. (I'll post about those tomorrow-ish.) Nonetheless, the day of -- well, more like from 2:30 pm and on -- was amazing.
The craziest part was that with all of the planning and coordinating, we didn't even get to see a lot of the things that we'd put together!
Guests Arrival? No idea if anyone had problems finding the church or who came late. Although the wedding started on time -- yes, it IS possible -- so we apparently didn't have too many people lingering around.
Ceremony? I was stuck in the bridal lounge until I walked down the aisle.
Cocktail Hour? We spent this time taking pictures, so people were seated when we made our entrance.
Reception Set-up? People had already put purses on the tables and napkins in their lap. It still looked beautiful overall, so I'm sure that it was gorgeous at the beginning of the night.
Candy bar? Almost demolished by the time we got to the reception.
Clean-up? I think we got all of our gifts and personal items, so I'm assuming that went okay also!
After the after party? Lu and I caught the party bus back to the hotel about an hour early -- along with about 6-7 other guests. Although I've heard some pretty interesting stories about what went on during/after the second return trip, all of our family and friends are alive and well... and I guess that's all that matters!

What you and Lu experienced is very common. I missed almost everything at our daughter's wedding because we were at the church taking pictures and so forth. When we got to the reception, we didn't get one bite of the appetizers--the only thing they didn't eat was the table. We had a professional decorator and I didn't see most the stuff---we paid $$ for--barely caught it in the pictures. She made a picture spot for the photographer to take pictures of our guests----never saw it. Got about two bites of food as well. When it's been an event for Hershal and I, we usually don't get enough food and then I'm sad later when I'm hungry.
Your wedding and reception was wonderful. I especially liked the letter you wrote to Jeremy---the part about if 'there's more sickness than there is health'---part. I was surprised at how the candy bar disappeared. Some people went twiice!!! LOL The cake design was really cute--and was perfect for your theme. Can't wait to see the official pictures.Anything you missed, I caught it. Just ask. One more thing. This may not happen to you, but I usually have 'let-downs' after a big event. My mind won't shut down and stop thinking about more 'ifs'. Some times I don't know what to do with myself for about a week. But anyway, it was wonderful.
Yay!!! We're so glad that you could be there to share the day with us. It was such an amazing experience -- everything was wonderful and ran so smoothly. I'm hoping the photographer was able to capture at least some of the things that we missed and/or that we'll be able to piece it together from everyone else's pictures.
I definitely did make sure to eat dinner and cake. (I think I actually ate more than Jeremy!) I was surprised at how fast the candy bar went! By the time we got there, there were a few whoppers, a handful of M&Ms, and some candy corn left. We weren't sure if people would like it, so I'm glad that it was such a hit.
The let-down period hasn't hit me yet. I'm hoping that it'll be gradual. We just got back, and we're starting to open cards and record gifts now. Tomorrow, I plan to go to the Social Security Office and DMV to start the name change process. Then I'm going to spend the weekend unpacking.
Hopefully, by that time, we'll have our official pictures so that we can start working on thank you cards. Then Jeremy's mother is having a second reception for us in South Carolina around Thanksgiving, then we have the holidays, and our honeymoon in February....
BUTTTT in between all of this, we'd definitely like to sit down with you and Hershal to catch up -- not just about the wedding, but we miss talking to you two every week. Let me know when you have the time for a Brown Family Get Together. Lu and I will cook. :-)
